weight | the expression of odds as a logarithm
(cf. binit weight). H. B. Newcombe points out that investigators weight different odds:
1) a frequency ratio of an outcome (field weight), 2) the product of all the frequency ratios
for the comparison (comparison weight), 3) the numerator of a frequency ratio
(a-ratio), 4) the denominator of a frequency ratio (b-ratio), an
estimate of any of these ratios (cf. Newcombe, 1988, p. 106). |
