hyphen

the symbol ‘-’ or possibly only a space that appears in some cultures between double given names or double surnames; e.g., in most European countries “Anna Maria” is written with a space, in modern France it must have a hyphen “Anne-Marie”; the h. is introduced in PS-RULE [PS3] & [PS4] as a possible realization of the combining term or connector; the h. is sometimes a separator when a name consists of multiple morphemes, cf. Chapter 1, §3, ¶1
