a rule specifying the phrase structure in the GRAMMAR; cf. chapter 2, ¶1; the initial p. s. r. for personal names specifies the structure of a personal name phrase and the elements, the symbols for which do not appear on the left in a p. s. r. (category symbols), belong to the terminal categories, which are listed individually in the LEXICON
