3.2.5 French. The rules for French are based on names that appear in Quebec, France, the French Cantons of Switzerland, and the French Provinces of Belgium. The phonetic system is different for each and each has changed somewhat, but for the most part they are mutually intelligible dialects. The linguist has developed a set of 390 rules on all three levels of analysis.
