interpreter

a module of the standardization process which uses a semantic resource to assign an interpretation or meaning to a set of syntactic name structures; the i. is no more than a coder for personal names, cf. name group, and name code; cf. Chapter 4, §1, ¶7; the nature of the i. as a calculator is probably most evident with dates, which are assigned an appropriate Julian day number; cf. Chapter 4, §1, ¶8; with localities the i. assigns either 1) a set of coordinates defining their boundaries, or 2) a set of jurisdictions in a hierarchy; cf.
