3.2.6 German. The rules for German are based on names that appear in Germany, Austria, and the German Cantons of Switzerland. The phonetic system is different for each and each has changed somewhat, but for the most part they are mutually intelligible dialects. The linguist has developed a set of 231 rules on all three levels of analysis.
